I wanted to use a hydraulic clutch so this meant converting the pedal box, as all Capri’s use a cable.
I used a master cylinder from a BMW Mini R50, R52, R53, R56 this is compact in design with a remote reservoir.
I choose this as I still wanted to use the cold air face vent and the air flow pipe goes through the pedal box.
Larger master cylinders block this or you can go through the bulkhead but it is very close to the engine and I am trying to have as little as possible under the bonnet.
I cut to small plates that bolt to the pedal and to the master cylinder using a lubricated sleeve 10mm long x 12mm diameter with a M8 clearance hole, this allowed the bolt to be tight, but not the master cylinder eye end. I removed a small amount of the lip to enable the master cylinder to sit closer and added a return spring to keep the pedal up.
I was using a Tilton 6000-Series Hydraulic Release Bearing so I also added a pedal stop to prevent the piston traveling too far.
The alloy reservoir tank was mounted on the bulkhead and connected with 8mm Tygon 2375 tubing.
A custom hose 1280mm long made by Proline Braided Lines LTD with a R50 MINI PUSH FITTING TO AN4 FEMALE 1280m long, this goes to left of the car and then through the floor with a AN -4 90 Degree Forged Bulkhead Fitting.
This then connects to the hose from the Tilton concentric slave cylinder pipe.
